Location: Scarsdale, N.Y.
Price: $12,000,000
The Skinny: Brooklyn-born brothers Bob and Larry Tisch built a business empire from scratch during the boom times following World War II, starting with one hotel and working up to a near $20B fortune. Now, the next generation is running their holding company, Loews?and seem to be doing a good job too?but Larry's son Daniel Tisch decided to go his own way by founding his own investment company, TowerView, and, unlike most of his Manhattan-based family, by moving to the suburbs. It seems, however, that the New York University board member and his wife may be tiring of life in Westchester, as they've just listed their longtime home in Scarsdale, N.Y. for $12M. The 10,000-square-foot stone mansion was built in 1918 and sits down a long driveway on 3.3 private acres. The estate includes a guest house, "heated swimming pool, Zen garden, putting green and basketball court," along with restored original moldings, wood-paneled walls, and stained-glass windows.
